Louisiana’s East Zone duck season is a wrap as the 60-day season closes at sunset Sunday. It has been a pretty good one. The first split started off with lots of ducks and good success for hunters that had water. As the split wore on, it just got better and better.
The second split has been a mix of good and bad, with temperatures ranging from 18 degrees freezing over duck waters to 80-degree days right on up into January. We certainly got plenty of water, too. In fact, there was so much in some areas that the ducks had too many places to spread out in. We got the four seasons of the year — all in one week in Louisiana!
As you wrap up the duck season this coming weekend, be safe and enjoy. And if you want to take a look at a day-by-day report on this year’s season ( yes, all 60 days!), check out the daily Duck Report. Go to http://www.simmonssportinggoods.com and scroll down and click on the Duck Report.
