There have been some big events on D’Arbonne recently, but the Legislative Fishing Day held last week could be one of the biggest ever. There are a lot of people lined up trying to make this lake better for area residents and visitors and the improvements will benefit everybody. They need everybody’s support.
The legislative fishing event was not only a huge fun event with lots of volunteers, it also showed our elected officials from around the state exactly what a treasure this lake is and why it needs money to make it even better.
The fishing was pretty good, the food was great, the planning was excellent and there were very important contacts made to move projects forward in the parish, especially around the lake. It’s impossible to measure how successful this was, but it was an earthquake, it would have been a 10. It was huge. Every visitor went on with a bagload of goodies, a full stomach and memories that will last a lifetime. And they left talking about bringing even more elected officials back next year!
We’ve shared some photos and a note below from the event.
Here’s a note from the Town of Farmerville:
“We would like to thank Cliff Palmer with LaMats for these wonderful pictures from the 2nd Annual Lake D’Arbonne Legislative Pro-Am Fishing Tournament! We would also like to thank the Farmerville Fire Department and all of those who helped to make this event possible. And much appreciation to Representative Chris Turner for his vision to showcase our beautiful Lake!”
And we will add this: Thanks to all the guides, the visitors, the folks that showed up to support the event and anybody that had a hand in it. As I’ve often said, it’s not about who gets the credit. It’s about who gets things done!
