It’s National Championship Week! The top crappie anglers on the Crappie Masters tour from all over the country will converge on Lake D’Arbonne for the huge CM National Championship, to be decided in two days of competition Friday and Saturday.
What’s at stake? Only $125,000 in cash and prizes — including a check for $30,000 for the championship team. In addition to the national championship, also up for grabs are the Angler Team of the Year, Rookie Team of the Year, Male/Female Team of the Year and Adult/Youth Team of the Year! More than 130 boats are expected for the event!
Here’s a quick glance at the plans for the week and we’ll have more as the week progresses. Let’s welcome these folks to the area and look forward to a big week on the lake!
Crappie fishing has been pretty good on the lake and the cold front that is coming through this week may bunch up fish a bit more by tournament time and make the fishing even better. There’s one thing you can be sure of. If the fish are willing to open their mouths, some of these guys are going to catch them!
