Christmas “crappietunity”!

Whether you crappie fish with a cane pole and a red and white bobber or use eight $120 graphite crappie rods off a spider rig in the front of your fancy boat, you’ll have an excellent opportunity — or crappietunity — to become better at it in Monroe this January 25 at Crappie University. The event will last from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and include lunch. Mark your calendar. Save the date.

And it’s just in time for Christmas! What better gift for your fishing friend or loved one than signing them up for Crappie University!

Louisiana Delta Community College and Bobby Garland Bait Company have teamed up to bring the popular Crappie University day of instruction to our community for the first time ever. It’s a great chance for people from Ruston, Bastrop, Monroe, West Monroe, Delhi, Columbia, all points in between and beyond to come for a day of fantastic crappie fishing instruction and more. It’s also a great chance to give young anglers a wealth of crappie knowledge all in one day.

We will cover more details later, but here’s a brief rundown of the instructors and their topics. Each one is worth the price of admission alone!

The instructors are all top notch crappie experts who can share basics about crappie fishing as well as key you in on all the latest trends and techniques. There will be extensive instruction on how to use electronics better. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned veteran, you can bet you’ll pick up knowledge and tips during Crappie University that you can use to catch more fish.

And the good news, there’s no homework! But you’ll probably leave ready to hook up the boat and head out to the nearest lake to practice what you’ve learned.

Special thanks to Gary Dollahan with Bobby Garland and Chancellor Dennis Epp and his team at Delta for putting this on for fishermen in this area. I’m hoping the crappie crazy folks around here take advantage of this opportunity and pack the house! I’d bet my favorite crappie jig that you’ll get more than your money’s worth at this event!
