You never know who you’ll run into when you least expect it. Like recently when I was in Orlando at the 2019 ICAST show, walking around in my lakedarbonnelife.com shirt.
“Well, there can’t be but one Lake D’Arbonne, I know that,” the voice behind me said. “Where are you from?”, the man all dressed up in fish patch clothing asked.
Then I recognized him from his photos, it was River Possum.
Okay, his name is really Harvey Horne and he’s a pro bass fisherman now, living in Bella Vista, Arkansas. But since he’s from Union Parish originally, his nickname follows him wherever he goes. He’s still a Louisiana boy at heart.
We had a good visit and even had to take a selfie to show Windjammer (a.k.a. Peyton McKinnie) that we had finally met.
Harvey is just getting started on the BASS tour and has won $84,392 to date in 18 pro tournaments. He’s already captured a championship on the BASS Elite trail ( the Bass Pro Shops Central Open #2 on the Arkansas River), something not a lot of folks can say!
