Two things I can tell you. One, crappie fishing the Ouachita River next month weeks won’t be anything like it will be this summer. The river will most likely be extremely high on May 26. Two, any time you can spend on the river will help you catch more fish this summer.
How do those two tie in? Well, for starters, there will be a Crappie Fishermen United of Louisiana club tournament on the river May 26 out of Sterlington. It’s open to anyone. It will be a good event on it’s own, but it can also give anglers that are interested in this summer’s June 22-23 professional American Crappie Trail event on the river a chance to get in a few more hours of fishing time on the big river. The river is traditionally a bit more stable by then.
But the biggest thing is these events give you a chance to go fishing. What more do you want? Here are the details of the upcoming event.
