It’s bream fishing time. If you own a pole and a cork, you know that. But you can take bream fishing up a notch in a few weeks on the Ouachita River. There will be a bream tournament Saturday, June 17, 2017 geared toward family fun at the Alabama Landing.
Finch Bayou Recreation Ramp ( Alabama Landing) will be the headquarters for the event. Here are the details:
You will be able to fish Finch, Harrell, and the Ouachita River. Entry fee is $40.00 per team and you must have a child age 15 or under with you to fish. Fishing time will be from 7am to 1 pm and you must be in line to weigh by 2 pm. Payout will be split two ways (1) man, woman, and youth team or (2) two men or ladies and a youth team.
Fishermen can weigh 10 bream per team. Payout will be based on how many boats enter (1st Place 10.00 per boat count, 2nd Place 6.00 per boat count, 3rd Place 4.00 per boat count). There will also be fund raisers going to to help the Boy Scouts, 4H Shooting Team, and NWTF Jakes. There will be door prizes, free hot dogs and hamburgers and more.
Registration will be held from 5:30 am to 7:00 am. that morning. More information is available by calling tournament organizer Neal Pace at 318-547-2187.
