While the grownups are chasing big bass on D’Arbonne and the river in big bass tournaments, Saturday, June 10 is a great day to bring the kids fishing for free!
The Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries in conjunction with Louisiana State Parks will be hosting the annual Kid’s Fishing Derby at the Lake D’Arbonne State Park boat ramp on June 10, 2017 during the Louisiana Free Fishing Weekend.
They will have a fishing contest for age groups 6-9 years and 10-13 years. Bait is provided and the first 100 kids who register will receive free fishing poles!
Registration will begin at the boat ramp at 8 a.m. with the fishing contest at 8:30-10 a.m.
The LDWF will also have a baitcasting activity and a fish print activity from 8 -11 a.m.
Wait! There’s more. The sponsors will also have a big prize of bicycles for a male and female of each age class donated by Academy Sports and The Association of LA Bass Clubs.
Go Fish!
