Lake D’Arbonne still has a way to go, but the latest look at the water level shows the lake is just about a foot and a half below pool stage. That’s a good thing, but hopefully it will come on up some more if forecasted rains hit later this week. The lake was held down a whole month longer than originally scheduled, so it isn’t up to where it wold normally be following the every-four-year drawdown. Today the lake was at 78.46. Pool stage is 80 feet.
It’s not a good thing if the lake doesn’t stabilize before the fish start heading to the shores to spawn, and that could come in a month to six weeks. Here’s a look at where we are now, and the predicted levels for next week.
