What’s next? THUMPARAMA, OCTOBER 22TH. A Crappie tournament open to the public on the Ouachita River out of Sterlington. You must launch at the Sterlington Ramp and weigh-in will be there as well.
Here are the details: $5 RAMP FEE; 8 poles or less; live bait or artificial baits and 1 or 2 people per boat; $40.oo per boat entry fee; FISHING TIME 7 AM TO 1 PM with weigh in at STERLINGTON parking area starting at 2pm and anglers must be in line no later than that.
Payoff will be for the first and second place big crappie and five places on the best seven crappie. There is a minimum size limit of nine inches. Payback will be determined by boat count. You can fish any waters of the Ouachita River and tributaries as long as you can access them by boat from the water. Prefishing is allowed up to 12 hours before the tournament. Registering the morning of the tournament up to 6:30 a.m. requires an extra $5. It really helps the group if you pre-register!
