Catching big bass is usually a spring thing. But at Lake D’Arbonne it goes all year long. Just take a look at these bass caught at the Scott Bullitt Big Bass Tournament this past weekend on the lake. By the way, more than $2,000 was raised through fishermen entry fees after prizes and almost $1,000 in winnings was donated back to the cause by winning fishermen. Good job.
These are the winners of the tournament. Fish were caught on a variety of baits, but the big ones mostly came on buzz baits early, big plastic lures on up in the day and a variety of shad colored crank baits.

Congratulations to the Road Runner/Tru-Turn Hooks team of Kyle Schoenherr and Rodney Neuhaus, the 2015 Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters National Champions!!!!!
Our four local teams didn’t fare too well on the tough Kentucky Lake tournament, but we are proud of them for making it there and giving it their best shot. They’ll be back. Don’t forget to make plans for the big Crappie Masters Louisiana State Championship right here in our backyard in February of 2016! You can find all the winners from Kentucky on the Crappie Masters Facebook page. The winners of the Nationals this weekend are pictured below:
