More on catfish

If it makes funny noises when you grab it, has whiskers and slick skin, it’s a catfish (or a slick politician, but you shouldn’t get close enough to one of those to grab them anyway….)

That’s all the identification that some people need. But just in case you are a purist and want to know what kind of catfish you’ve caught, there’s a great poster to help with the ID below. By the way, catfish are biting like crazy on most area lakes. It’s a good time to get out and catch a bunch. If you aren’t used to catfish, watch those fins. They not only stick you, but they have painful venom that will be pretty painful if you let them fin you.

This species is officially called “FRIED CATFISH!” (with all the trimmings, of course)

Later this week a very special catfish recipe….
