I’m very happy to report that Terri Towns of Farmerville has been reappointed to the Bayou D’Arbonne Lake Watershed Commission, or as we call it, the Lake Commission.
Terri has been “on the lake” her entire life and as a local resident and owner of Lester’s on the Lake, she knows first hand the issues and concerns of the area’s residents and fisherpeople. She isn’t afraid to ask questions and represents the Farmerville area well. She is the only female member of the commission.
Lake Commission members are appointed by the Governor. It is pretty much a thankless job, but the commissioners do it because they love the lake and want to ensure we leave this lake as a great treasure for those who come after us.
We are proud to have Terri on the commission and Lester’s on the Lake as a sponsor of lakedarbonnelife.com! If you haven’t stopped by there, make it a point. It’s at the West end of the Bernice Bridge and they have just about everything a fisherman could need, including some really good stuff to eat. They are the only place on the lake where you can get gas and there are two great public launching ramps within a rock’s throw of the business. And tell Terri “thank you” for her service.
