Doin’ Duck Day the Right way!

In case you missed it, Duck Dynasty began Season Six Wednesday night. And in case you missed it, the show had a special guest,  Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. Yes, I watched it. Haven’t missed an episode. I do love the show.  Some folks do more than just love it. Every day, not just Wednesday, is Duck Day. They wake up in Duck Dynasty pajamas, eat breakfast off a Duck Dynasty plate, put Duck Dynasty band-aids on their bo bo’s and drink their sweet iced tea out of an Uncle Si Duck Dynasty plastic cup. Need I go on?

I’m proud to say I was innovative and did Duck Day right Wednesday. I started off Season Six with a bang…or a “tap”, you might say…

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERAA few weeks ago, I had ordered my favorite new Duck Commander items from B’n’M Fishing Poles. There are Graphite crappie jig poles, trolling poles, mini-casts and telescoping poles — all in the new DC camo green. I broke in my first one Wednesday and loved fishing with them. I know it’s June, but you can still catch some good ones. And I can’t wait until cooler weather to really give them a workout.

Crappie fishing has come a long way in the last decade. It’s no longer just bobbers and cane poles and a swimming shiner. It’s equipment designed for a growing number of techniques that allow crappie anglers to catch fish in many ways just about all year long.

My favorite of the new Duck Commander fishing rods is the new 10-foot Double-Touch Crappie Rod. It has two spots in the cork handle where your finger actually touches the graphite fishing blank for amazing feel. Instead of “tap”, it’s a “TAP”!!  I also like the chartreuse depth-monitor wraps which are on each rod at one-foot intervals. It makes is super easy to keep your bait at the right depth. The rod teams up fantastically with B’n’M’s Buck’s Ultralight crappie reel, a small two ball bearing reel with great drag system that weighs just 1.6 ounces.

Here’s the company’s take on how they hooked up with the Duck Dudes:

‘”When B’n’M learned that the Robertson family loved crappie fishing and were fans of B’n’M Poles, it was a natural fit to bring the two great brands together. We’re proud to bring you our custom line of “Duck Commander Crappie Rods and Poles. Building on over 70 years of panfishing experience, we worked with the “Duck Commanders” to develop and test this series of trolling, spinning, ultralight and telescopic rods to their exact specifiications. As with every B’n’M product, we stand behind this entire series of rods with our Best-in-the-industry Warranty for materials and workmanship. They are outstanding and we’re sure you’ll enjoy fishing along with us and the Robertsons for years to come.”

You can find out more about B’n’M and the new Duck Dynasty line of fishing rods at http://www.bnmpoles.com. If you can’t find what you are looking for in a local store, check out their online catalog and they’ll get you exactly what you want in 3-4 business days. Don’t wait till the fish start jumping in the boat to get yours. Join the B’n’M Fishing Club and you’ll even get points to help you get discounts on products from rods, reels, caps, decals and all kinds of fishing stuff.
