Fishing for Hope

I’ve never met Alabama pro bass fisherman Randy Howell. But thanks to a $300,000 sack full of largemouth bass, I know about him now. And it’s all good.

Howell won the BASS Masters Classic this past weekend on Lake Guntersville in his home state of Alabama. Other than he caught three sacks full of monster bass, I didn’t give it much thought. But as I scrolled through some pictures, something immediately stood out. The main sponsor logo on his fancy bass boat was a tackle store or a boat or bait company, but:  KING’S HOME  Where Hope Lives!

RandyHowellBoatNow it makes it easier to understand when he rolled into one spot and caught more big bass in an hour than most of us catch in a year…or a lifetime. He caught 40 on camera in front of hundreds of people watching from other boats and from the bridge he was fishing next to. He did it on the biggest stage of fishing. I think he was put there for a reason.

I don’t “follow” any pro bass fishermen. You probably don’t either. But here’s a guy worth looking into more. In fact, you might even want to consider helping sponsor the folks that sponsor him.
