The trouble with weather forecasting is that it’s right too often for us to ignore it and wrong too often for us to rely on it.
That pretty much sums up what we’ve been facing the past several weeks. If the ice and snow from yesterday didn’t do anything else, at least it got a few nervous weather forecasters off the hook for making everybody think this was going to happen a day earlier. And it’s run the cormorants, all but a handful of the really stupid ones, off somewhere else warmer. See, there’s a bright side to everything.
I can’t remember a time when I’ve spent more time thinking about the weather than about fishing like the past several weeks. I don’t like it. But we move on. So as I sat here Wednesday morning early, trying to decide if the back porch thermometer was just stuck on 26 degrees or if it was really 26 degrees outside, I just decided to snap a few pictures of the pretty white stuff and dream of the future — like two days from now when it’s going to be in the upper 60’s for the weekend (see the forecast below). Here today….
