D’Arbonne bass showin’ out

The Majestic Bass Tournament put on each year by Dale Taylor is always a success, but sometimes the bass are harder to find than a good decision from the Biden Administration. But this past weekend, the bass just plain showed out.

Eric Evans caught the biggest fish of the tournament with a 9.98 pound lunker. Ten pounders are rare at D’Arbonne anytime, but to land one like that in June is phenomenal. Jarred Smith was second with an 8.99 and Sontus Mitchell third with 8.82. Mitchell, the perennial big bass thumper, also had the overall big stringer with 24.03 pounds followed by Brennan Flick with 21.18. Flick also had an 8.00 lunker to finish fourth overall.

Craig Kolb had 18.25 to finish third in overall stringer followed by Taylor Kolb with 18.13. There certainly won’t be any trash talking after that family battle, do you think? For more photos and information, check out Dale Taylor’s Facebook page.

Here’s a look at some of the big ones (thanks to Taylor for the photos):
