The past year has been crazy and affected a lot of events, including the classic Lake D’Arbonne Country celebration of the Watermelon Festival in Farmerville. Well, wait no more. It’s here.
This is Watermelon Festival week! The festival is a 3 day event, beginning with the Little Miss Watermelon Pageant Thursday and ending Saturday night with the Miss Watermelon Pageant. Events include: parade, street dance, bicycle and tricycle races, arm wrestling, eating and seed spitting contest, best dressed watermelon, 5K run, watermelon quality contest, largest watermelon contest, and auction.

For you fishermen, there’s also a Watermelon Festival Bass Tournament. The watermelon Festival means lots of activities including the Watermelon Festival Team Night Bass Tournament! Saturday night from 8:00 pm till Sunday morning at 7:00am. Registration starts at 6:00 pm Saturday at the ramp road pavilion. $100 entry fee per team. Contact Dale Taylor for more information.
