Family, faith, fishing & fellowship

Christian fellowship isn’t just restricted to the church building. Of course, church attendance should be part of our regular walk with the Lord, but we also have to take time to fellowship with other believers as well as carry out the great Commandment of reaching others. There are many ways to do it. And yes, most of these ways come with food, too.

There’s a family and faith friendly event coming up next week at D’Arbonne that I think fits “Christian Fellowship” to a “T”. However, that “T” may stand for Thump in this case, as in a crappie thumping a jig next Friday and Saturday as part of the Crappie.com gathering at the D’Arbonne State Park. One of the chief organizers and attendees is Reverend Warren Maxwell, pastor at the Columbia Heights Baptist Church. I’m sure he’d be quick to agree!

But for today, we’ll just focus on this:

1 John 1:3-4 (NIV)

We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.

Note: If you’d like to know more about the crappie.com event, look back to last week’s past posts and you can find more information.
