Thatcher Wehmeyer and Buster Braun of Missouri carried their first day lead across the finish line to roll to a victoryon the Ouachita River in the American Crappie Trail’s tournament Saturday with a two-day total weight of 25.08 pounds.

A total of 81 teams from around the country competed in the event, the next-to-last qualifying event or the 2019 National Championship, to be held next Spring. Several area teams are in the top levels of the points race. We will let you know those standings as soon as they are calculated.

We’ll also have more followup photos and information on lakedarbonnelife.com in the coming days. Stay tuned!

Here are the results:

  • As we do each Sunday, we’ll close with a Bible verse:

Matthew 13:  “The kingdom of heaven is like a large net thrown into the sea that gathered all kinds of fish. When it was full, the fishermen hauled it ashore. Then they sat down, sorted the good fish into containers, and threw the bad ones away. That is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will go out, cull out the evil people from among the righteous ones, and will throw them into a blazing furnace.

In the end, will you be judged as good enough to keep? That’s a question each of us has to ask, and if you aren’t sure, it’s not too late!
