Big deer making mistakes

The last week was a busy one for deer hunters in Union Parish, an apparently it was for big deer, too. For the hunters, that’s a good thing. For the deer, not so much.

Union Parish is the only place I know with it’s own really active Facebook page dedicated to deer hunting. If you haven’t checked it out, do so. Here’s the really cool thing, too. If you have a problem, get lost in the woods or have trouble with something being stolen or vandalized, you can post it on the page and it’s like a massive neighborhood watch in the woods. Somebody is on there almost all the time and can get you help. Outdoorsmen in Union Parish are just that kind of folks.

No kidding, I’ve seen deer on hoods of cars, backs of four-wheelers and even on trailers with lawnmowers, but this was the first time I’ve ever seen one on the back of….
