Yeah, you know it. The Golden Rule:
“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.
With Lake D’arbonne down five feet, boat ramp access and parking spots are at a premium. So is space once you are in the water in your boat at the launching areas. So here’s my two cents worth for everybody out there taking advantage of the crappie bite.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Have your boat ready to back off the trailer when you get on the ramp. Once in the water, even if it is before daylight, go ahead, turn on your running lights and move your boat out so others have access to get in their boat and into the lake, pull up and get their partner. If you don’t have running lights, don’t launch until it’s daylight. That could get you a ticket.
Park like you would like others to park — don’t block anybody in and don’t take up 1.75 parking spots. And please, don’t park in the way of the ramp. There’s a reason that spot right at the top of the ramp is open by the DO NOT PARK HERE sign….
Unfortunately, it only takes an unaware fisherman or two to put everything in a tailspin. Pay attention. Be courteous. Be careful out there. Help each other out. Enjoy your fishing trip, but don’t give others heartburn by your actions. Under these conditions, it’s a team effort.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
