Louisiana Tech University and the University of Louisiana-Monroe will be among teams of college anglers fishing in the 2016 Carhartt Bassmaster College Series National Championship on Green River Lake in Campbellsville, Ky., July 28-30.
Adam Forester and Scott McClellan will be representing the LTU Bulldogs and Tyler Stewart and Nick Joiner will be the cast masters for the ULM Warhawks.
The anglers will be fishing for national team honors and an individual chance to compete in the 2017 GEICO Bassmaster Classic.
The two-person team that manages to catch the winning weight will be awarded the 2016 Carhartt Bassmaster College Series National Championship trophy.
In addition, the winning team will advance to the 2016 Carhartt Bassmaster College Series Classic Bracket with the second-, third and fourth-place teams. Those eight anglers will
then go head-to-head, bracket-style, on Kentucky Lake, Aug. 4-6. The last competitor standing will earn a coveted spot in the 2017 GEICO Bassmaster Classic on Texas’ Lake Conroe, March 24-26, 2017.
Competitors qualified for the college championship through regional events. A total of 89 teams from 62 colleges throughout the United States will be competing.
All 89 teams will compete on Days 1 and 2. After the Day 2 weigh-in, the field will be cut to the Top 12 teams for the final day of competition.
Weigh-ins will be streamed live at Bassmaster.com each day at 2:30 p.m.
