Kevin Van Dam – BASS photo
There’s enough pressure on a pro bass fishermen out there competing against the best in the country and a tough fish bite. The tournament is on. First prize is $100,000. Cash. Throw in 50 or so bass groupies following you around in their boats on the lake during a tournament and it gets pretty intense.
Then what happens if a nearly 9-pound bass grabs your lure, wraps you in a tree and then puts up a fight that would make even one of the top pros ever like Kevin Van Dam nervous?
Well, it did happen to KVD Sunday and they captured it live on BASS TV Sunday. Here’s a quick look. And yes, Van Dam won the tournament at Toledo Bend with 15 bass weighing 96 pounds in three days. Wow. Here’s a quick video (be patient as it uploads)
PS – It’s great that fishermen are interested in the tournament, but it’s kind of sad he has to ask some of them to move back out of the tree he is fishing….
The tournament wasn’t kind to Louisiana favorites Greg Hackney (42nd) and Monroe’s Brett Preuett (102nd), but I’m sure they gave it their best shot!
