Corney Creek Outoor Festival

Got plans this for April 15-16?  Well, now you do.

Get out and enjoy the weekend at the 40th annual Bernice Corney Creek Festival Friday April 15th and Saturday April 16th in Bernice.

This year’s event will be held at the old Bernice School. There are all kinds of activities, including a parade starting at 4 p.m. The theme, or course, is OUTDOOR! So have fun with this — judging will take place during parade and winners announced on stage at 4:30.

There will be a Bernice Bears Old Time Sports Exhibit on Saturday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Organizers are asking that if you have old sporting equipment, photos, uniforms or more, call Monica Morrow at 548-2424 and be part of the exhibit. There will also be an Elite football League game Saturday night between the North Louisiana Lightning and the Texas Bulldogs of Dallas. Admission is $7 per person for that event.

There will be a carnival, food vendors and lots more. Come enjoy the events all day on Saturday and don’t forget the Mike McKenzie Band on Friday night. Don’t forget to pick up a Festival T-shirt! They are $15.

And apparently they are having an event for me: Turtle Races!  Oh, I see. It’s for real turtles, not people who move like turtles…
