Crappie Masters update

Here’s a rundown of the upcoming Crappie Masters tournament on Lake D’Arbonne:

Crappie Masters All American Tournament Trail will hold a National Qualifier and Louisiana State Championship February 26, 27, 2016 on Lake D’Arbonne, Farmerville, Louisiana sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, Tracker Marine and Nitro Boats, Humminbird, Minn Kota, Union Parish Tourist Commission, Farmerville Chamber of Commerce, and the Ruston Lincoln Parish CVB, the tournament will qualify anglers for the 2016 National Championship to be held on Grenada Lake, Grenada, Mississippi.

The Lake D’Arbonne State Park and they have seven cabins available for the week of the Screen Shot 2016-02-04 at 8.33.08 PMCrappie Masters Tournament here. Some anglers had checked on line and the cabins show as “booked”, but they are on hold for the tournament. They won’t show online; you have to call the park at 318-368-2086 and be sure to tell them your with Crappie Masters. These cabins are very nice and easily sleep two teams. Late registration is on Thursday, February 25 at the Willie Davis Recreation Center 116 Cox Ferry Rd, Farmerville, LA 71241. Registration and voucher pick-up will begin at 5:00 PM with the rules meeting beginning at 6:30 PM. Entry fee for two-man teams is $337 for the two-day event. Payouts for the winners will be based on how many teams enter with all entry fee money going back to tournament winners.

Weigh in will be at D’Arbonne Pointe Resort 147 Old Hwy 15, Farmerville, LA 71241. Anglers will fish from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and must be in the weigh-in line by 4:30 PM both days. The weigh in is open to the public. There are also still a handful of RV spots available at D’Arbonne Pointe for visitors.

A free kids fishing rodeo will be held on Saturday, February 26 at D’Arbonne Pointe. Kids will register from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM and will fish from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. All kids will receive a prize. Kids will need to bring their own poles and bait.
