Dropping water levels and the warm weather of summer haven’t stopped the Lake D’Arbonne bass from biting.
The entrants in this past weekend’s annual 24 hour Majestic Bass Tournament, put on by Dale and Gayle Taylor, proved that. the tournament ran from 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning through 7 a.m. Sunday.
Dale Taylor called the catch the “most impressive bunch of fish we have weighed in the history of the Majestic.” The top 40 fish were all over 5 pounds and nine of them went over six pounds.

3. Jeff Pipes 6.67
4. Raymond Cheek 6.67
5. Colby Duke 6.56
The top five-fish stringers were caught by winner Colton Bradford 24.15; Aaron Branch 23.30; Brandon Thrash 22.80; Chris Patton 21.75 and Mike Pirtle 20.51.
