Kayakers Go Green for Dean

green for deanIt’s not too early to plan for this.  If you are a kayaker, or you just want to help, spread the word!

Plan on joining the D’Arbonne Kayak Club for their Fourth Annual Watermelon Wake Kayak Races along Ramp Road in Farmerville on Sunday, July 19. Divisions will include children, teens, women, men, and family relays. Kayaks ARE provided–no outside kayaks needed. Lester’s on the Lake will provide winning trophies for each division including door prizes!

Watermelons and water provided!

Special thanks to the Union Parish Sheriff’s Department, Pafford Ambulance, Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries, Lake D’Arbonne State Park, and the City of Farmerville for annual assistance for the race. This year we are accessing a $10 entry fee for each participant with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the family of Angie Williams (and Dean) for travel expenses to Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati for treatment of Muscular Dystrophy.

If you are unable to attend, but want to help…visit the this gofundme account for the family and donate online: http://www.gofundme.com/vhp98k.
