Union’s No. 1 in deer harvest

Where are the deer?  Well, it’s hard to say. But it is easy to say what parishes the deer were in LAST YEAR! And it’s a good bet the largest populations of deer and hunters will be in the same ones again this year.

Here’s the top 15 parishes for deer kills in Louisiana for the 2013-14 season, according to deer reported to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. Look who’s No. 1:

1. Union – 3,776KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

While dear hunting near Summerfield several years I come up on this strange looking fellow, sort of resemblance’s KB. I asked him “fellow where you from”? Down near Houma he replied. How did you find this place? He said he went to the LWL&F office and asked the best deer hunting and they tell him Morehouse Parish. Second best he was told was Union Parish, he figured Morehouse would be to/too crowded. LWL&F was mad at Morehouse Parish over a confiscated deer issue by the sheriff of Morehouse Parish so they were sending as many hunters as possible to Morehouse.
