Sportsman’s Expo Springs forward to 2015

If you haven’t heard anything about this month’s fifth annual Lake Country Sportsman’s Expo in Farmerville, there’s a good reason. That’s because it’s NOT this month, as in the past four years.

The Sportsman’s Expo has been moved to February, at a date yet to be determined, to coincide with the end of hunting season and the start of the new fishing season. It should be a good, new format that will attract lots more visitors and interest.
to keep up with the latest, you can check the show’s website:

In addition to the Hunting and Fishing aspect of the Exposition we have added two segments to the EXPO.  There will be a hunting competition “Big Buck” contest along with a number of $500 dollar gift certificates to be awarded.  See rules for the competition and contest. Rules are on the site listed above.

The new EXPO will feature a hunting segment to help highlight all Union Parish hunters, followed by a  Banquet to re-cap the 2014-2015 hunting season.  There will be Banquet door prizes and the season award (Big Buck Winner) will be presented at the Banquet. There will also be door prizes to include large cash prize.

There will also be a “King of Kings on Lake D’Arbonne” one-day Big Fish crappie Tournament on Lake D’Arbonne.  Men, women and children alike will compete for the biggest Crappie catch of the day.  Use your choice of bait and fish from boat or bank.  Hourly gift packages with a cash payout and trophy for the largest crappie will be awarded.  This will be a 6 hour, single pole fishing tournament to decide who will win the “King of Kings” Crappie Tournament and obtain the bragging rights for one year .  A $1,000.00 first place big fish prize will be awarded.

Stay tuned!
