Timely teaching

clock_of_clocks-6780What would you do if you got a free hour? Sleep through it? That’s what most Americans do Sunday morning when we set the time back on clocks (at 2 a.m.) as we go back to Standard Time, whatever that is. And it’s just like everything else that seems “free”. You have to pay it back in the Spring, when it would really be better to have an extra hour than this time of year. But they didn’t ask me.

I do know one thing. Whatever time it is, it’s a time to live your life wisely. Time is one thing you can not get back, no matter what the clock says. And that is the basis of one of the Bible’s most basic, yet profound teachings:

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise,

making the most of every opportunity . . .”

— Ephesians 5:15
