Mark your calendar for this weekend on Lake D’Arbonne. Either make plans to come watch, or make plans to get out of the way as the DSRA (Deep South Racing Association) puts on drag boat races on D’Arbonne June 22-23.
This “Battle on the Bone” will feature between 40 and 50 boats racing for a total purse of about $8000.
There are several classes of boats in which races will be conducted from the bass boat category all the way up to the high performance rigs that will reach speeds of over 100 mph in the quarter mile course. The races course will be along old Highway 33 in front of Folly Beach so spectators will have a good view of the races. There will be several area boats in the races including Matt Ludwig’s bright red Allison, Terry Morris’ canary yellow Triad and Jeff Naul will be piloting his white Quarter Shot.
For more information, contact Ludwig’s Marine in Farmerville.
