A Grand time fishing

Bream fishing seems to have finally picked up this spring. Spring has been a photo-19bit slow in coming — or at least staying.  It’s been great bream fishing weather one day, then cold fronts cool the water or rains muddy it up. But in between, fishing has finally started picking up.

The good news there are bream being caught. Nothing provides more action and more fun for a variety of people – especially kids — than bream fishing.

william fishWe were able to spend a little time bream fishing with the grandkids this weekend. Nothing beats the excitement of a 3 or 4 year old catching fish, unless it’s the excitement of the grandparents helping them. Baiting hooks and taking bream off is a lot of fun. So is hearing them nickname their catch “Swimmy” or hearing them ask when we are going to “wash” them (clean them).

And there’s just something special about frying up the filets of a grandchild’s first bream. Can I have a bite, please?
