I’m sure you heard about the controversy over an English Pop Singer cancelling his appearance on a popular late-night talk show because he refused to appear with the “serial animal killer” Duck Dynasty Stars. Oh, brother. To each his own. Personally, I’m sure it was a much better show with more time for Willie, Si, Jase and Phil. It’s okay to harvest the earth’s bounty and to enjoy eating it.
One of the first famous t-shirts (before Duck Dynasty) that the Duck Commander sold simply said, “Arise, Kill, Eat”.
It was quoting the scripture, Acts 10:13: “And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.”
The verse is about Peter’s vision of all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. The voice of the Lord came to Peter, awakened him and told him to rise, kill and eat. Peter was at first skeptical and told the Lord he had never eaten anything impure or unclean. God’s voice came back clearly, three times: “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”
Arise. Kill. Eat. You don’t have to if you don’t want to, but don’t judge those who do. And since I fish more than I hunt, I like to use the springtime interpretation of this verse: “Arise. CATCH. Eat.”

Kenny take your crappie nibbles the ones that you will use that day out of the bottle and put them on a flat surface in the sun. This will dry them out some and they will last longer on your hook. You will have to watch them as they dry so not to dry them out totally. They will melt in the water like they are suppose to do but they won’t be all over your hands and everything you touch. Try this and see if you like it. Steve Streeter
