There’s a new big boy in town!

Move over, guys. There’s a new big boy in town.

It’s the new leader in the Union Parish Big Buck Contest. It’s a 12 point that was scored at 146 7/8 by local deer expert Greg Hicks. The big deer was killed Saturday afternoon in Union Parish by Paul Zachry of West Monroe.

The monster has five regular points and one irregular point on one side and six regular points on the other.

There are a lot of big deer being killed right now in the parish and with the upcoming cold weather, and rain, there could be more. If this deer holds up as the big one, Zachry will win $1,000 from the Chamber of Commerce.
