One of the biggest outdoor events of the season is this Saturday August 19 — the Union Long Spurs National Wild Turkey Federation group is holding their annual banquet.

Crappie Fishermen United of Louisiana will host an open tournament Saturday August 19 out of Joe Bob’s on Bayou D’Arbonne.
The tournament will pay five places with top seven fish being weighed in. One award will be paid for big fish. Entry fee is $40 per boat with a 90% payback. Fishing waters include the Bayou and the Ouachita River. Anglers may use up to eight poles per boat.
