McBass McWinner!

tylerThe big bass on the Ouachita River are like a lot of fish everywhere this year — they aren’t always doing what they are supposed to do. Those big six and seven pounders were no where to be found on the high and muddy Ouachita this weekend in the 2015 Ronald McDonald House Big Bass Tournament.

But that didn’t matter to one young Monroe fisherman. A 4.12 pounder looked pretty big to Tyler Stewart. In fact, it looked a lot like $10,000! That was the first place payday for Stewart. The day was extra special for Stewart, too, because he got to fish with his dad.

The University of Louisiana at Monroe fishing team member also had the second largest fish of the event, a 4.10 pounder which also won him cash. David Landry came in third with a 3.99 pound largemouth. Congratulations to the winners and to the recipient of the proceeds from the tournament, the Ronald McDonald House in Monroe.  Thanks to everyone who participated!
