Personal responsibility

I just finished my taxes for 2014. Sometimes it seems ridiculous. I know what Mark said in the Bible, Chapter 12, verse 17:

Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.”

But my mind wonders to question if Caesar ever charged 25% federal income tax, 6 percent state tax, 11% sales tax, property taxes that seem to grow faster than the national debt), and endless numbers of permits, licenses, gasoline taxes, inspection stickers and the like that one is required to have in order to live within civilization.

I think a lot of these problems would be solved if our nation’s leaders and more members of our society would follow the instructions from Paul found in 1 Corinthians 13:11:    “When I became a man (or woman),  I put the ways of childhood behind me”
