Okay, this won’t make you stop sneezing or clear up your red eyes, but this cure for the common “cold” will help make you feel better when it’s yucky cold outside. You know, like recently? It’s cold. It’s wet. And the leaves need raking, the boat batteries need charging, the Christmas decorations need to come down (okay, surely you’ve done that by now…), etc…
How do you do it?
Thaw out a package (oh heck, make it TWO) of deer steaks. Marinade them in your favorite sauce. Nothing beats a little Worcestershire sauce (Lea & Perrins for those of you that can’t spell Worcestershire) and Italian salad dressing. Put it all in a stainless steel mixing bowl and refrigerate for 4-8 hours. Take it out, add salt & pepper or your favorite seasoning, put it in a plastic ziploc bag and coat it good with plain old flour. Remove each piece and put in about an inch of 350 degree peanut oil in a hot cast iron skillet you got from your Grandma and fry it up until it’s golden brown (only 2-3 minutes).
Then drain the oil and make homemade brown gravy out of the browned flour on the bottom and some of the drippings. Add a little of the leftover marinate if you’d like, but make sure you cook it thoroughly. Now, pour it over some mashed potatoes and biscuits and start pigging out. You can eat vegetables tomorrow.
Cold? What cold? See. It’s already getting warmer outside!

I feel better just look’n at it!!
