The word “assassin” conjures up a tough image, but Brandon Jenning’s new area fishing group called “Bayou State Crappie Assassins” is pretty simple to explain. They are looking to have fun and have their sights set on a special kind of victim – crappie. Their weapons are high powered jig poles loaded with lead — lead crappie jigs, that is!
“We are local fishermen from across the Central and North Louisiana area that share a common interest
in fishing for crappie and we enjoy the company of fellow crappie anglers for fellowship and club activities,” the Sikes resident said.
Crappie Assassins also is a family oriented group whose main focus is promoting crappie fishing, youth participation, sharing fishing techniques and tips with fellow anglers, and general camaraderie between club members. They are also working to form an affiliation with Crappie Masters in an effort to promote North Central Louisiana as a destination for National Tournament action, of which all our surrounding States already take part.
Jennings aid you can also expect more. We are working hard along with our sponsors and local supporters in an effort to provide Door Prizes and Gifts to be awarded at tournaments and other club events in addition to the 100% payout of all Tournament Entry Fees. The total sum of all membership dues will be used to fund these prizes and help with any club expenses that may arise. In addition they will host an Annual Members Banquet – – a fish fry Celebration followed by an Awards presentation for the year end performance of our members. And you can bet they won’t be eating fried catfish….
