Today is Majestic

Don’t forget to come watch the weigh-ins or keep up with the leaders of the MAJESTIC Big Bass Classic on D’Arbonne Saturday and Sunday morning.

You can catch the hourly weigh-ins at Ludwig Marine on Hwy. 33 just across the Ruston Bridge in Farmerville for 26 straight hours of bassin competition beginning at daylight Saturday through the final weigh-ins Sunday morning. Or you can listen to hourly updates over the radio on KJLO 104.1 FM. There will be plenty going on and you can be a good guy by buying a Majestic T-Shirt for $10 with all proceeds going to a very worthy cause — helping Jerry Morris to support his mission trips to Tajikistan.

Last year, Chris Gates, from Downsville, walked away the big winner by bringing a 6.46 pound bass.  Mike Brister of Ruston weighed-in five fish during the event that were 3.26, 2.71, 4.67, 4.39 and 4.60 for a total of 19.63 pounds to win the Heavy Stringer category.

I’m a pretty big fellow to go out on a limb, but here goes… I predict both those totals will be topped this year. If you disagree, let me know now or you CAN’T RAG ME after it’s all over.
