Showboats

I’ve never met a Boat Show I didn’t like.

That’s because besides big ticket items like boats, campers, there are also all kinds of hunting, fishing, boating and miscellaneous gadgets there (some of them I don’t even realize I needed until I see them there!). And some good things to eat, too.

The annual KNOE-TV Boat Show is scheduled for Friday through Sunday, January 25-27th, at the Monroe Civic Center. The event has almost outgrown the facility because between 8,000 -10,000 folks from around the region usually attend the event. And the arena is jam-packed with displays with something for everybody.boat

One of the best things about the Boat Show is that it is a wake-up call to get everything ready for spring. Good fishing is just around the corner.  And if you are looking for a new boat, there’s no easier and better way to look at what’s available and make a good deal. The dealers would much rather sell you a boat than have to hook it up to the truck and tow it back to the showroom. If you need credit, they even have banks on site to lend you money on the spot.

While talking about the boat show, I do have to take a minute to say a special “thank you” to Randy Minter of KNOE. Randy basically works on this show almost all year long and frankly, without him, we’d be home watching re-runs of Duck Commander on that weekend if it wasn’t for him.  Thanks!  By the way, lakedarbonnelife.com will be there this year, handing out cards and encouraging viewers to join in our growing list of fans. I hope to see you there. And don’t forget to mark your calendar and tell your friends about the show…and this site!

George, you can lead a horse to water, but….
PS – when will you finish your honey-do list so we can go fishing again?

Maybe if you had a newer boat you would be a better guide.
