Lake work

I have a sneaking suspicion that if you want to do any work down on the lake while it is down, you better not wait too much longer. Today’s weather is a good indication of what we may be facing a lot of in the next month to six weeks and it won’t take a whole lot of big rains to bring Lake D’Arbonne up enough to mess up boat dock and lake bottom work. The lake is still almost five feet below pool, but as those who live on the lake know, that can change quickly.

The weather has cooperated almost 100% during the drawdown. The Lake Commission can only do so much to keep the lake down if it rains a ton. And while we don’t want too much rain at the end of December and early January, we sure want enough to fill up the lake in time to not mess up the spawn. And it’d be nice to have the boat back in the water — without using the trailer. But our “want” list is all up to Mother Nature. Hopefully, she’ll cooperate.
