Mother Nature in a good mood

Mother Nature woke up in a good mood on the lake Tuesday.  The dawn was spectacular — orange and blue and gold and 64 shades in between — bouncing off cotton candy clouds that only God could have put all together in one place. He made the sunrise. I took the picture. It is one of those not-fishing, not-hunting, not-cooking on the deck moments that make life on the lake special.

The morning reminded me of the words of Naturalist John Muir, who said “The grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere.”  Not many are as grand as the one across the lake Tuesday morning.

I will let the picture stand as today’s “post”. And by the way, here’s Muir’s quote in its entirety:

“The grand show is eternal.
     It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once;
     a shower is forever falling;  vapor is ever rising.
     Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and islands,
     each in its turn, as the round earth rolls.”

Duck Dynasty quote of the day (8 days and counting until Season Two):
“I’m a low tech man in a high tech world.” — Phil

    “It is always sunrise somewhere”…, I think I try this line on the next Wildlife Officer who questions me about shooting ducks too early. Seriously, I think Muir’s quote is accurate and God has shown great wisdom in making this true. If all were dark at the same time, there’d be no one to encourage those who are in darkness, and there would be only hope that the sun would ever rise again. As it is, even though it is midnight where I am, I know there are others who walk in the light, and that soon, I too, will see clearly again.

    God is such a magnificant artist. look forward to mornings like this. we are looking for a home on the lake now. will retire as soon as we are able to find our retirement home. not many available, but we are sure there is a home with our name on it.
    take care and may God bless.
