When we moved to the lake, one of my first priorities was to name the place. I mean, when you live on the lake, you have to have a name for your place. That’s the way I look at it.
Ours was a no brainer: Still Waters.
Living on the lake has a calming effect and a peaceful quiet that is hard to find anywhere else in this crazy, busy world. Especially early in the morning and late in the evening, it just seems like a Heavenly place.
That’s where “Still Waters” came from. One of my favorite Bible verses is the 23rd Psalm. And after living this life for 60 years, still waters, peaceful quiet and a calming effect are much appreciated. In case you aren’t familiar with the verse, I’d like to share it with
you:
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’ sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.
