Lake D’Arbonne Life – Day 1 !!!!

I’ve always dreamed of living on the lake. Lake D’Arbonne in here in Farmerville, Louisiana has always been my favorite. A few years back, my wife and I bought a lot on the water at D’Arbonne and began preparing to build a home one day. We cleared the lot, drew up the plans and our new home has been built (and the fishing pier and boat house!). And now we’ve moved into “Still Waters” and call it home.

People have always said that living on the lake is like waking up on vacation every day.  That is true. And it’s a good vacation, too!  It’s quiet. It’s beautiful. The sunrise looks different almost every day. There’s an abundance of ducks and deer and hummingbirds. And did I mention the fishing? The fishing is great. And it’s a great community as well.

Here’s a bit about me:  I caught my first fish when I was four years old and have loved it ever since. My Mom & Dad loved to fish and my wife, DiAnne, and I brought our kids up fishing and enjoying the outdoors in many ways over the years.  We’ll be sharing stories of those days — and these days — in Kinny Haddox’s Lake D’Arbonne Life.   I love to bream fish off the dock.I love to go to the BASSMasters Classic… and everything in between. And I love to tell stories about it all. Some of them are even true! Well, almost.

We will update the blog almost every day with something new, fun and exciting. I hope you’ll mark it as a favorite and visit us every day. Tell your friends.  Please!  And send us an email with your thoughts and ideas. We’ll share those occasionally and not give away your secret fishing spots. And we’d love to hear from you. Send an e-mail to darbone1@gmail.com and let us know what you think and share your stories. We’ll share occasional comments from readers as part of the site.

Besides loving the outdoors, I’ve been an outdoor writer on and off for 38 years including 12 years as a sportswriter and he Outdoor Editor of the News Star with weekly columns, news stories and fishing reports.  I’ve had more than 250 magazine articles published – including BASSMasters, Outdoor Life, Southern Outdoors, Louisiana Game & Fish,  Mississippi Game & Fish, Louisiana Conservationist and numerous other publications. There’s more of this on the “About Me” page if your interested.

And now, I’m blogging. I hope you’ll join us regularly and I hope you enjoy!
