Threat to my spring fishing!

There’s an ominous, real and present danger threatening my spring fishing.

It could affect you, too. That’s why I’m letting you know about it so you can plan ahead.  It started with a simple trip down the road and ended up with a face-to-face encounter with the enemy of spring fishing.

They sounded harmless at first. Soft Touch, Coral Rose, Fatsia Japonica, Blueberry, Fashion….but when they ganged up on me, 27 of them in all, I knew I was in trouble.

IMG_1207It was downhill after that. And the real and present danger is sitting at various places in my yard between me and the boat house in little black buckets. They will taunt me until I put them in the ground where they belong. That means firing Roundup at the weeds & grass that don’t yet know they are living in what is about to be a new plant condo. There’s digging holes, adding topsoil, etc. etc. etc… I’m sure they’ll have to be some sort of border as well. Who’s going to keep up with where the fish are biting?

At least if the fish don’t bite, I’ll have something to keep my honey do list from growing even longer.

And I hate to beat a dead horse, but you know, it’s really George Bush‘s (no pun intended) fault. This all started on President’s Day and he is was one of them. This holiday is when the innocent trip down the road started. Then veteran plant nation owner Wiley Roach got involved and started scribbling out diagrams and where to put this plant and that plant and I was suddenly swirled into chasing him into the middle of the nursery like Dorothy sucked up a tornado. The storm only ended when the bed of my truck was full.

And I have no Munchkins to help me plant. Any volunteers?
